Privacy policy

Homestead Acres is a home maintenance tracker made by Coffee Bean Code. This page explains what the app stores, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use it to track you across other sites.

What we store

  • Your account: email address, optional display name and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile name and picture.
  • What you enter: homes, categories, items, custom fields, service history (dates, notes, costs) and the photos you add.
  • Sharing: which homes you belong to and your role in each. Members of a home can see its contents and each other's names and email addresses.
  • Notifications: if you turn them on, a push token for each device so reminders can reach it.
  • Your plan: your trial or plan, and, if you pay, a Stripe customer reference. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us.

Why

Only to run the app: keeping your records in sync across devices, sharing homes with the people you invite, sending the maintenance reminders you ask for, and providing the plan you've chosen. Basic technical logs (for example, errors) are kept by our hosting provider to keep the service working and secure.

Who processes it

  • Google Firebase (Google LLC) hosts the app and stores your data in the United States: sign-in, database, photo storage, notifications and server functions. It also runs App Check, which uses reCAPTCHA to make sure requests come from the real app.
  • Stripe processes payments when you buy a plan, under its own privacy policy.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete any item, photo or home at any time. Deleting your account removes your profile, notification devices, plan and every home where you're the only member; homes you share stay with their other members. How to delete your account.

Records of payments are kept by Stripe as the law requires.

Children

Homestead Acres isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. See also the terms of service and refund policy.
